Miss Universe Final Moments Reaction

The ending to Miss Universe was truly interesting. It seemed more than any other year I've witnessed that the interview portion and final question were the most pertinent in the competition process. The interview portion focused heavily focused on United States politics and the effects of the election of Trump as well as his unprecedented very active first few days in office. Miss Kenya got plastered with a rather loaded question, What are you most worried and excited about Donald Trump's Presidency? I think anyone during this controversial time wouldn't know how to properly answer that question at all let alone in the limited amount of time. Along those lines, France was asked what she thought about the refugee ban and if she believes countries should have their borders open or closed. She eloquently answered simply that France is open and open to globalization but that the decision should ultimately be left to the country and the diplomats.
That section was very telling in the results for the final three. The final question seemed very similar. It seemed that in order of best answers given to the question the results would be Haiti, France, Columbia; first and down respectively. That seemed obvious to the contestants as well when Haiti and France were standing together and speaking quietly awaiting the results. If you read their lips you can see Haiti tell France that she is very proud of her and France tell Haiti "you've got this"; We should also note that after answering her question seemingly the entire arena was chanting "Haiti!" To everyone's surprise, including Miss France herself, France won it all. You can see from the jaw-drop to the conversation with her fellow contestants that she was not at all prepared for that result. This begs the question, is the competition rigged with a winner every year? It seems every year that someone European or Hispanic in some respect wins and yet, the year when someone from the Caribbean came so far with such solid and concrete answers she given runner-up. I have to say personally I'm disappointed with the result because I feel Haiti presented a better overall package than France. The girl demonstrated beauty, humanitarianism, and intelligence through her heartfelt and eloquent answers.
Overall, I think the production was very good this year. Boys II Men came and performed a medley of three great hits for each of the finalists as the women took their final walks. Although the whole universe was watching and waiting host Steve Harvey made no flubs this year. Actually, Steve nobaly made himself the bud of the joke the entire evening hinting at the infamous sanfu last year. Miss Philippines, last years official winner, got in on the joke and handed Harvey a pair of large glasses before he announced the winner.
